Spring Trophy Striper Season

The Striper season begins in mid-April with Trophy Stripers. If you like to catch the BIG ONES you need to book early for these trips.

Classic fishing on the Chesapeake Bay

Summer season offers great fishing opportunities for catching our famous rock fish (stripers) trout, blue fish, spot, white perch, hard heads, drum and Spanish mackerel.

These are all fun fish to catch and great eating.


 
Chesapeake Bay Crab Charters

Enjoy a day on the Chesapeake Bay catching your own live Maryland Blue Crabs.
Come on aboard and enjoy a combined Crabbing and Fishing trip.
Our morning crabbing will be done with commercial style "Trotline" for the Maryland Blue Crab and dipping your limit.
All Equipment, line, bait and one person license will be provided.
We can include bottom fishing if time and energy permits. During the summer months we enjoy great bottom fishing for Perch, Spot, and Hardhead.


We can have them steamed fresh and ready for your enjoyment.

Fall Season

Ellen R trolling Mid-BayOur fall Striper season begins with the bay cooling and the school stripers getting fat for the winter. Great fall fishing begins in September with trolling or jigging for some of the best fishing of the season.

Further into the Fall starts our famous CAST & BLAST, a combination of Hunting and Fishing.
Hunt in the morning for sea ducks and fish in the afternoon.

ELLEN-R

USCG certified for a maximum of 6 passengers

The ELLEN-R is a 45ft custom built charter boat, designed for fishing on the Chesapeake Bay.  It has the latest and most sophisticated electronics available, not only to help you catch fish, but to insure your safety.  

Multiple boats can be obtained for larger groups for company fishing trips or large family outings.  

About the Captain

Capt.  Jeff Ruth has a U.S. Coast Guard Master License and Maryland Fishing Guide License.  As a Third Generation' Waterman he has worked on the Chesapeake Bay his entire life.  Born and raised on Maryland's Eastern Shore, the Land of Pleasant Living.  Fishing for the past 40 years.  

Capt.  Ruth is one of the most experienced and reliable captains you will find today.  With his expertise and knowledge you will be assured of great fishing.

Location

The Ellen-R is docked at Kentmorr Marina in Stevensville, Maryland.  One of the Eastern Shores finest Marinas.  Convenient location from Annapolis, Baltimore, Washington and Pennsylvania.  Excellent Hotels and Restaurants in the area as well as a light plane airport.  The Marina has a great restaurant which can also do large company parties and crab feasts.

Directions

From Baltimore, Washington or Annapolis
- Take US Route 50 Easy/30North across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge
- Take the exit to MD Rt 8
- Bear right on the exit ramp and turn right onto Rt 8

From Ocean City, Salisbury or Easton
- Take US Route 301 South/ 50 West across the Kent Narrows Bridge and proceed to Stevensville 
- Take the exit to MD 8 (last exit before Bay Bridge)
Bear left on the exit ramp and turn left onto Rt 8 

Once you are on MD Route 8
- Follow Rt 8 to Kentmorr Road, turn right
- Proceed along Kentmorr Road until you come to the
Kentmorr Harbour Marina and Restaurant
